Greeniversity FAQs

Who is Greeniversity for?

Greeniversity is for anyone and everyone! It’s designed for adults aged 19+ but younger people may find classes they are interested in too.

To get involved all you need is enthusiasm to learn or teach and a tiny bit of spare time to attend or teach a class (or lots of classes if you have lots of time).

  • Meet a Greeniversity student
  • Meet a Greeniversity teacher

The aim is to get more people learning ‘green’ skills – things that ensure a healthy, active life. This could be growing food, it could be riding a bike, it could be knitting, massage, yoga or dance!

If you think you have green skills perhaps you could become a teacher on your own chosen subject.

What is a green skill?

A green skill is any skill or talent that will benefit the environment or encourage people to live healthy, active lives.

For example, a green skill might be making environmentally friendly cleaning products, teaching people to dance, mending a bike puncture or growing veg. If you’re not sure if your skill is a green one contact us

Do I get a qualification?

Greeniversity learning is all about having fun. Whilst we don’t give out formal for every class you attend you will earn a green point towards the Greeniversity Green Degree. We’ll hold a fun Green Graduation ceremony in March to reward and celebrate all our learners.

As a Greeniversity teacher or mentor you’ll receive training and experience which could help you in a future job. It’s definitely something to put on your CV!

Are there any costs involved?

All courses are offered free of charge. For some classes we might ask for small donations to cover costs of materials (like food for a cooking class).

Teachers and mentors will receive training for free, we’ll also provide a resource library for teachers to borrow items such as cameras (photo and film), flip charts and Dictaphones.

Can I be a teacher and a learner?

Yes you can, at Greeniversity you can have the best of both worlds.

Who will be my mentor?

Your mentor will be automatically assigned to you when you register as a teacher or learner.

What if I don't recieve my confirmation email?

If you don't recieve your confirmation email first check your junk mail, if it's not in your junk mail contact the administrator.

Is there a help forum?

Yes there is and you can find it by clicking here.

What if my question isn’t answered here?

Contact us and we’ll try to help.
