Mentor FAQs

How does the mentoring process work?

When somebody signs up to the Greeniversity website they will be offered the option of having a mentor assigned to them. They will then be referred to a mentor who will contact them to help with any aspect of Greeniversity that they need assistance with.

How are mentors assigned?

Mentors will automatically receive contact details of their student or teacher mentees via email. It will be the mentor’s job to make initial contact with the mentee.

How will I support learners and teachers?

Support and advice will be through email and telephone (the student or teacher will call you). Support may involve help with using the website, encouragement to sign people up to courses and dealing with any questions that may arise.

How much time do I need to commit?

This is down to you and how much time you feel you have to spare. A general rule of thumb is one hour a week.

How many people will I be mentoring?

A mentor will have a maximum of 10 people who they are mentoring at any one time. If the mentor feels that they would like more or less people to guide they can contact the Greeniversity administrator to arrange this.

If the mentor wishes to resign they should advise the Greeniversity administrator so that new mentors can be assigned.
