Exciting week for the Greeniversity 15.03.2010
It’s a really exciting week coming up for the Greeniversity and I’m not just talking about this week’s classes!
On Thursday the Greeniversity is spending the day at University Centre Peterborough as part of ‘Science Week’. This is a fantastic opportunity to promote the Greeniversity to a more academic audience. We hope to recruit mentors, teachers and learners and give an alternative picture of learning which will benefit students and staff from the college. Also on Thursday our volunteer mentors are attending a training course to help them become really effective mentors for people who require their assistance using the www.greeniversity.org.uk The big event this week is, of course, the Green Degree Ceremony which takes place on Wednesday evening at the John Clare Theatre. This event celebrates the success of the Greeniversity and will reward our teachers, learners and mentors. It’s a great chance to give a big round of applause to everyone who has contributed to the success of the project but also (this is the exciting bit) it’s a night of great entertainment and fun! Our V.I.P guests will be delighted by the beautiful singing voice of local X-factor star Nicole Lawrence. If you are a member of the Greeniversity or would just like to come along for a free evening of great entertainment contact Karen on 866441
