Here's a dictionary definition, googled in an instant:-) A mentor is:
1. A wise and trusted counselor or teacher. 2. Mentor Greek Mythology. Odysseus's trusted counselor, in whose guise Athena became the guardian and teacher of Telemachus. 3.To serve as a trusted counselor or teacher to (another person).
Why do I ask?
Because at the Greeniversity we’re determined that nobody will be excluded from active membership, as a teacher or a learner, because they're not computer savvy! Our Greeniversity mentors do a fabulous job of helping people who are unfamiliar with the internet register at the Greeniversity, sign up for courses and upload their classes. Our volunteer mentors, who are provided with comprehensive training, help to make sure that digital exclusion is not an issue at the Greeniversity. Excitingly the Greeniversity is growing at such a pace that we are recruiting more, which is fantastic news! So, if you have a few hours to spare a month, can find your way around a website and are as keen as we are to ensure that the Greeniversity remains as inclusive as possible contact Karen on 866441.
You never know you might become legend, not a Greek one, but a Greeniversity superstar!
